Weyland GmbH is an Austrian family-owned wholesale business. Originally founded as a small general store in Schärding, the company is now in its sixth generation and has established itself as a supra-regional wholesale business. The company is headquartered in St. Florian am Inn. The company’s product range consists of steel and reinforcement, wood-based materials, and carpentry supplies.
Since 2018, the range of panels has been effectively managed in a state-of-the-art, grundner storage system. This guarantees resource-saving and material-appropriate storage. The fully automated multi-level storage system is at the heart of panel picking. It covers an area of almost 1,300 m² on two levels and uses four efficient manipulators to store and retrieve order- and order-delivery-related panel stacks.
Thanks to the connection to the ERP system, the 330 flexible storage spaces are automatically prioritized, dynamically sorted, and stocked. Weyland GmbH customers benefit from gentle material handling combined with high dynamics during demand-driven, fully automated material assembly.
Due to the large hall area and the resulting excessive span for a single storage system, a two-row storage system with two levels each was chosen. The storage systems are perfectly connected to each other, and panels can be exchanged between the storage systems at any time. Optimal space utilization and fast handling times are guaranteed by the highly chaotic storage of C and D items in the rear storage area.
