QABUS has more than 70 employees and is one of the largest contract manufacturers in the Regensburg area. The company is a second-generation family business.
High-quality sheet metal parts are manufactured in a factory covering more than 5,000 m². The company is a renowned specialist in the field of sheet metal processing and offers comprehensive solutions for retail, industry, and design & architecture. It manufactures a wide range of products – from simple blanks to finished workpieces. State-of-the-art machines are used in combination with an automated Grundner storage system.
The intelligent storage system automatically stores the sheet metal from the two input bays. The laser cutting machine always receives the right sheet metal at the right time, which increases productivity and reduces costly waiting times to a minimum.
After loading the laser cutting system, the manipulator switches from the vacuum gripper to the rake gripper in less than 30 seconds. This specially developed gripper removes the finished parts from the processing table and places them on the conveyor belt, after which they are transported from the storage system for further processing.
After switching to the vacuum gripper, the next sheet is delivered to the laser cutting system or, in the case of longer jobs, storage is continued.
