As a requirement for efficient, fast, and high-quality production, the machinery includes a fully automatic panel storage system with an integrated saw and nesting machine, a laser edge banding machine, a 4½-axis CNC and 5-axis CNC with miter edging unit, an automatic drilling and dowel insertion machine, and a cabinet press. These ensure that all orders are processed efficiently and quickly.
Grundner Sondermaschinen was able to increase throughput by 30% by automating its edge banding machine with a intelligent stacking solution, a storage and retrieval system, and a drawer buffer.
The highlight of the system is the intelligent stacking system. The finished parts are stacked directly from the edge banding machine or the drawer buffer onto pallets according to the job order. Filler pieces, which are also placed between the parts fully automatically, ensure the necessary stability of the stacks.
